      <title><![CDATA[The Lorens award]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Stopp, in collaboration with the Gothenburg Film Festival, has instituted<br />
the Lorens Award for Best Producer in the category Swedish Feature Films.<br />
The Lorens Award is named after the legendary Swedish film producer<br />
Lorens Marmsted.</p>
<p>The Jury's definition reads:<br />
”The 2009 Lorens price goes to a producer who has created and been a part of a platform that takes Swedish film to a new level”.</p>
<p>The prize is awarded to Erik Hammendorf for the films ”De ofrivilliga” and ”En enastående studie i mänsklig förnedring”.</p>
<p>The prize, as established by STOPP, consists of the free development of the winning producer's next film which is estimated at a value of 500 000 kronor. The winner will be chosen from a list of 2008 Swedish feature films.<br />
The Jury will be looking for ambitious producers with high economic and artistic vision.</p>
<p>The jury consisted of: Tony Forsberg (Photographer), Petra Ahlin (Editor), Reza Parsa (director), Jesper Bergom-Larsson (producer), Ali Boriri (film lab director and filmmaker).</p>]]></description>

producer within the Swedish film industry - with special regard to high ambitions<br />

<p>The Lorens Award is to take the form of film laboratory developing for the<br />
producer's next feature production; it is estimated to be worth roughly half<br />
a million Swedish kronor - about fifty-five thousand Euros.</p>
<p>Jurys's satations reads:</p>
<p>For his persevering, creative work in producing the 2007 most exhilarating project.</p>
<p>The jury has decided to present the 2008 Lorens Award to the producer of the<br />
film "Darling" - Fredrik Heinig.</p>]]></description>

ONOFF is Sweden’s market leader in the consumer electronics field and this campaign continues their ongoing comical Super Heroes concept which illustrates ONOFF’s superiority in installing electronic equipment. Three characters from the previous campaign Catman, Friezeman and Superman have evolved in the new commercials by a substantial increase of visual effects created by Stopp.</p>]]></description>

      <title><![CDATA[Stopp creating the ]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Swedish effects house Stopp has just completed the Saab 9-5 BioPower 2.3t commercial directed by Magnus Rösman at Swedish Production Company Socialclub for Lowe Brindfors.</p>
<p>The commercial entitled “The chase” demonstrates how Saab drivers using the BioPower 2.3t engine can enjoy the benefits of increased power and performance while having a greater regard for the environment. Saab is pioneering the use of bioethanol in premium and luxury cars and by driving a car with 85% bioethanol and 15% petrol the driver can reduce fossil fuel based emissions of Co2 by up to 80%. The commercial opens on a moonlit landscape and shows a Saab driving through the forest at night. It cuts to an animal that sees the car and chases it. After a speedy chase through the undergrowth, the animal, which is revealed to be a lynx, is forced to give up while the Saab drives on with the strapline, “Introducing an even more powerful force of nature.”</p>]]></description>

      <title><![CDATA[Arvid reveals his dexterity for Xbox]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Stopp’s Arvid Björn has produced the animation for the new NHL 2007 Xbox commercial directed by Henrik Björn at Palladium Film, Sweden.<br />
The commercial promotes the NHL 2007 game by emphasizing the new "skill-stick" control which eliminates the need for pushing buttons on the controller. Instead the player can make complicated moves with just the joysticks. The spot has a surreal feel about it and features a caravan situated by a river with people doing various bizarre activities. Inside the caravan two guys play Xbox. One of them has the new skill-stick and uses his mutated 360-degree movement in his thumbs to show off the more advanced controls to manoeuvre the game with incredible precision and skill.</p>]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Stopp’s 3D team has been working flat out on a slick Samsung mobile phone web and print campaign through production company Perfect Fools for advertising agency Fältman & Malmén. The campaign is entitled “The Summer Collection 07” and features the new line of Samsung mobile phones in a fashion show.</p>
<p>However, this is no ordinary fashion show as the focus is not on the models but on the phones they are holding. This is achieved by dressing the models in black and having a black background so that the phones stand out brightly against them. The atmosphere is further enhanced by the lighting and music which gives the campaign an overall high-tech feel.</p>
<p>Stopp’s team worked closely with the clients to ensure the end result was an impressive, feature rich, flash animated mini-site. Peter Marin supervised and managed the project, coordinating with the clients every step of the way to build the mini-site from scratch. The team designed a male and female character, the proportions, suit texture and lighting scheme. They had to realistically animate the characters to produce six unique dance moves, one for each phone they represented. They also had to model and shade the six phones so they could be used in high resolution print, the animations and the interactive close-ups in the site. Arvid describes what the job entailed, “The agency contacted two skilled and famous dancers and decided on their moves and poses. We then used a fibre optics-based motion capture system to capture their dances, whilst also filming from different angles with two HD cameras for reference. After importing all motion data into our 3D package Softimage XSI, we collaborated with the skilled editor Johan Wik and ‘shot’ a wide range of angles of the animation inside the 3D software. Johan edited the six animations to the six different styles of music that had been previously determined. After all six edits were approved by the client we proceeded to cleaning up the motion capture data and refine the animations”.</p>]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Colourist Carl Skaff has just finished working on the recent Tele 2 campaign “Addicted” 3 directed by Hungry Man director Scott Vincent for Forsman Bodenfors. The campaign reveals how communication for many people is important enough to interrupt driving, birthdays and even sex!<br />
By using our new Resolve Telecine suite, Carl was able to complete the job in less than half the time a traditional Telecine suite would take. He was also able to give the client greater flexibility by producing graded moving images for approval fast and re-conforming changes quickly and smoothly. Peter Marin then put everything together in inferno. The campaign will air in North and Central Europe.</p>]]></description>

      <title><![CDATA[Size Matters in 3D]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Stopp has been busy building cars for The Norwegian bank and insurance company Gjensidige’s latest commercial. Directed by Axel Laubscher at Social Club, the spot gives the viewer subtle encouragement to save at the bank using an ever growing car as a metaphor for a savings account.</p>
<p>The commercial is part of an extensive campaign and features a model of a Ford Mustang car given pride of place on a shelf in the family’s living room. The car mysteriously continues to grow and the family have to keep moving it until it’s of such enormous proportions they have to drive it away.</p>]]></description>

      <title><![CDATA[Congratulations]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Congratulations to our chef Ann Sofie Nillson and Team Milko for winning a silver medal at the recent World Cooking Championships in Luxemburg. Team Milko were the only all female team out of the 44 teams that took part. Other Swedish teams to win were Sweden’s national team that took gold medal and Sweden’s military team that won silver. There were three categories that the teams had to produce and Ann-Sofie prepared category A, “finger foods” and a “show table”. Ann-Sofie came back from it exhausted but elated, “It was a great experience but lots of hard work, the final run up took 24 hours to prepare”.</p>]]></description>
